Ethics Philosophy A personal ethics philosophy helps a person to maintain and employ good morals and values that are important in a one’s life. Understanding the importance of ethics is critical in order to consciously work to develop and effectively utilize ethics. Therefore, accepting the importance of one’s ethical philosophy will result in ethical decision-making, therefore developing the ability to put ethical theory into practice create ethical conditions albeit, personal and professional situations. Therefore, ethical processes lead to better personal ethics with the emphasis in creating better organizations and societies. This paper attempts to explore my ethics philosophy. Metaethics Metaethics. According to DeLapp (n.d.) ‘Metaethics is a branch of analytic philosophy that explores the status, foundations, and scope of moral values, properties, and words.’ DeLapp (n.d.) continues by writing ‘Metaethics focuses on what morality itself is; the fundamental existence and status of morality itself, or vice versa’ (DeLapp, n.d.). Metaethics is considered a second level or â€Å"second-order† because of its philosophically abstract way of thinking about morality. For this, DeLapp (n.d.) writes, ‘The reason, metaethics is referred to as â€Å"second-order† moral theorizing is to distinguish it from the â€Å"first-order† level of normative theory’ (DeLapp, n.d.).
